As a local in Emmaus I remember this bakery being “Emmaus bakery” until it was bought out by “Egypt Star”. I do love how they kept the original recipe from the previous owner. BUT, in the past couple years they have been skimping on the buttercream icing….not to sure if it’s the excuse of “Covid” still or it’s just half fast work. My family and I would go back occasionally to see if it was just that day but it was being more consistent than anything. I remember when it used to be just enough icing or even some times too much icing still, it had that perfect ratio of batter and icing. Don’t get me wrong the donut size is perfect just extremely disappointing the amount of smear of icing. Can we please do better?.

I got a cake for my mother’s 50th. The girl on the phone who took my order was the same who helped me check out and she was such a big helps. The cake was exactly what I’d imagined. I ordered Wednesday for a Saturday (a little last minute for me- but they accommodated!) It looked and tasted great. Everyone enjoyed! 😊

I recently tried the coffee cake from Egypt Star Bakery, and it’s truly the best I’ve ever had. I can’t speak to the other items they offer, but this coffee cake is something special. The texture is perfectly moist, with just the right amount of crumb, and every bite has a rich, buttery flavor that feels both homemade and indulgent. It has a delicate balance of sweetness without being overpowering, making it ideal for pairing with a morning coffee or just enjoying on its own. If you’re a coffee cake lover, you have to try it. Egypt Star Bakery has set a new standard for me with this one!

After getting our flu shots, I thought that it would be nice to get some baked treats. It wasn't nice at all! Our family of four includes our 10yo daughter who was having a tough time deciding between the delicious looking baked goods. She asked several questions about what things were and how much they cost (I gave her a budget). Eventually 3 of us had selected our items and some more customers had entered. The lady at the register gave me the total ($4.91) and told me that we needed to go because of the other customers. Please note that our daughter had not selected her item. I gave my daughter the whole 3,2,1 count down then was told by the lady at the register that we needed to go. I gave her a $20 and grabbed the bags of 3 items and left. Shortly, I noticed that my wife and daughter were still inside. I returned and dragged my daughter out without a treat, crying. My wife was given $4.41 in change. I called back and told the lady how upset I am and that we would not come back. Later to add insult to injury I realized that we were cheated out of $10.68 of our change. Hopefully my daughter will enjoy the item I selected as I no longer have any interest in it. Should you

Despite my brother's inability to choose what to put on the cake, we were very happy with our cake from Egypt Star because they have the best flavor and quality in the Lehigh Valley! The staff were friendly at the time of order and pick up, and at the Emmaus location, there is convenient parking right out front.
